What Volunteers Do
The activities of the Volunteer vary with the needs and interests of the Client. Companionship, listening, reading, light chores, errands and / or some transportation are among the tasks performed by most Volunteers. Weekly contact between the Volunteer and Client is the norm, although varies with the Client needs and /or comfort. The time commitment is usually two to three hours per month. The Administrator and other Volunteers are available for support, especially during the initial months of the Volunteer / Client relationship.
The model Volunteer maintains confidentiality of the Client and the Client's family, participates in training sessions, provides bi-monthly Volunteer / Client contact reports, and keeps the Administrator informed of planned, extended absences from the Valley.
